RUCo-L (Rural Urban Co-Creation Lab)
A local living lab where the system innovation process takes place. The RURBANIVE project has 7 RUCo-Ls across Europe: Burgos (Spain), Prague Suchdol (Czech Republic), Lower Austria (Austria), Kedainiai (Lithuania), Milos Island (Greece), Trikala (Greece), and Lemgo (Germany).
CoPS (Community of Practice Suite)
This digital platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
System Innovation
An approach to change that addresses root causes of complex challenges by transforming underlying structures and relationships in the system.
Causal Loop Diagram (CLD)
A visual tool that maps feedback loops and cause-and-effect relationships between variables in a system. Helps stakeholders see how different factors reinforce or balance each other.
Enablers
Thematic areas that provide leverage for systemic change (e.g., circular bioeconomy, mobility empowerment, smart agriculture).
Decidim
The open-source participatory democracy platform powering this Community of Practice.
Circular Bioeconomy
An economic model that replaces fossil-based resources with bio-based alternatives and manages them in closed-loop, regenerative cycles.
Mobility Empowerment
Improving access to sustainable, affordable, and efficient transport options, particularly in underserved rural and peri-urban areas.
Quadruple Helix
A collaborative model involving four key sectors — academia, government, industry, and civil society — in the co-creation process.
Traceability
The ability to trace every decision, proposal, and output back to its origin and the people who contributed to it.
Rural-Urban Enabler (RUE)
A mechanism or thematic area that bridges rural and urban contexts and enables synergistic innovation.
RISE
RISE Research Institutes of Sweden — the partner responsible for developing the System Innovation Framework used in this process.
